Fake or defective. Causes phone problems.
By Jason McElroy
Being reasonable savvy with electronic devices, as I've been in the tech business for many years, I was well aware that cheap aftermarket chargers can have problems. For this reason I made a special effort to find a legitimate oem charger for my HTC Incredible. After hunting various sources I arrived on this item. Based on other reviews and the price, it appeared that this was legit.

I purchased two of them.

When connected to the charger the screen becomes intermittently unresponsive. Only some activity/typing registers. A little research reveals that this is a common, if not rampant, problem with poor quality aftermarket chargers.

The problem is consistent. Every time this charger is used, the problem occurs. When connected to the charger that came with the phone on the same outlet, no problem. I tried many outlets in my home and work to be fair, with the same results.

For an order total of $20.97 with shipping, it's hardly worth any further annoyance to return or exchange it for another POS charger.

I'm now firmly convinced that you cannot obtain an oem charger like the one that came with the phone after having tried many.

Weak.

I'm the type of person who knows the difference between crap and quality products and is will to pay the money to purchase the latter. It's unfortunate that I can't even do that due to false advertising and scammer companies.

Bait-and-switch...USED for "new"...
By Christopher C. Courter
"Items advertised as "NEW" were USED!!! Both of my travel chargers (ordered two) arrived and the first thing I noticed was that a previous owner put dabs of paint on the charger (part that goes in the phone) to indicate which side was up on the plug! Both of them had heavily scratched plastic and the cables had a good amount of wear and tear. They were packaged in plastic as if new...but both of the chargers had non-factory twist ties used to secure the cables. The chargers do work...and I will most likely keep them rather than go through the trouble of returning them. However, that doesn't justify the bait-and-switch of products advertised as "new" being used...and heavily used at that. Buyer beware!!!"

Junk
By J. A. Zaentz
Took a gamble based on other reviews and purchased two for my Droid Incredible...cables were thin and the base itself felt different from an actual OEM base I still had....needless to say neither charger I purchased worked, swapped cables and bases with known working components and it is all junk. Oh well....called Verizon and got one shipped to me in two days that actually works. As others have said, you get what you pay for.
