TOM TOM Parts from Amazon

I recently found that my 12 volt car power adapter for my Tom Tom failed. The center power prong on the cable to car's cigarette lighter interface fell out. After trying some generic car power adapters at Home Depot, Staples, and Radio Shack (none worked or fit correctly into the Tom Tom); I decided I needed to get the TOM TOM manufacturer's part. Tom Tom is manufacturered in the UK - You wouldn't believe the cost to ship the part. Then I tried Amazon. Not only did they have the part, but after another purchase I had the part shipped for free.

A necessary piece of equipment

This piece of the puzzle is needed if you are going to use the traffic part of the Tom Tom. It is quite expensive but when I needed it they had it available. It is exactly like the one that came apart. It works fine and got me back in business quickly.

Add lifetime traffic for a reasonable price

OEM cable/receiver is plug and play, and traffic info worked well in NYC metropolitan area. Wouldn't buy another GPS without lifetime traffic and maps, but this let me upgrade an existing unit for a reasonable price
