Top quality product and clever design

I received my Glif + today in the post. I quickly opened the package and fitted the Glif onto my iPhone 5. I had a screen protector and a vinyl back skin fitted on my iPhone 5. I had to remove my cheap screen protector for the Glif to fit. It was able to fit with the vinyl back skin still fitted.
It is a very snug fit, but also simple to take on and off. I love the fact that you can use it as a stand, so that your iPhone can be in portrait position on your desk, or hold your iPhone 5 in landscape, ideal for photos and watching movies.
I had a tripod and quickly attached the Glif with my phone to this. It felt secure. In fact I was amazed at how easy it was to secure. I am really looking forward to snapping some superb video and photos with my iPhone 5 now.
And the best part, you get a little screw piece that enables the Glif to secure on to your keying.

Great Product

If you want a camera mount adapter for an iPhone - this works great. It slides in and out with just the right amount of "snug." I really like the little "holder" that the "Glif Plus" offers for a clip adapter. I also like the extension arm which hold the iPhone down onto the clip. I think it is necessary if you are going to move the iPhone around at all.
I use this both for a small tripod I carry around in the car and also for a dash mount that has a camera adapter (cheaper and better than the custom mount).
VERY HAPPY with this purchase.

Exceptionally convenient and useful, ridiculously expensive

For the moment, let's forget price. The combination of the Glif and Serif is sublime. The two pieces nest together and are less obtrusive than a car key on your keychain, yet they give you the ability to quickly and securely attach your iPhone to a tripod, or a handlebar clamp, a window clamp, whatever. The Glif holds the phone very securely by friction alone, but the Serif gives you the peace of mind to hang it upside down or walk around with the phone on the end of a monopod. You say you never put your phone on a tripod to take pictures? Okay, thanks for reading this far. Bye. For everyone else, the Glif gives you the ability to truly take advantage of the iPhone's built-in HDR capability. Also, since the phone will focus down to about 4", you can do neat things with just a tabletop tripod. Need a high magnification close-up in a hurry? Shoot through a 10x loupe (focus the loupe, then put the phone dead center and as close as you can get to the loupe's eyepiece). Wouldn't you use a 'real' camera if you were going to the trouble of setting up a tripod? Not always. Getting a picture with the iPhone is the quickest way to get it and send it to someone else. The Glif expands the number of situations where you will choose to take a picture with your iPhone over a 'real' camera.
Now, about that price. $30 is outrageous for two pieces of molded rubber and a threaded insert. Highway robbery. And I'm not going to let it slide by explaining it away as "iPhone effect." However, ridiculous price and all, there's nothing else on the market that does what this does, as well as this does it, at any price. So go ahead and grumble, but pay the man his money, because you'll get your $30 back in the appreciation of how simple, elegant and useful the Glif is. Yes, it's that nice.
