ATTENTION! Will work ONLY for 2006+ Mazda
By Michael Beetle
Seller should add this to the description. This cable solution works only in 2006 and up models. If you have 02-05 Mazda, your best next options are GROM Audio or AUXMOD. Hope this helps...

Perfect as described... at first
By Evan R. Tornquist
Product works perfectly just as described. Installation was super easy even for someone like me who has never taken anything apart on my car before. Gotta love YouTube! Just an FYI, I have a 2006 Mazda 3, and it works perfectly!

EDIT: Dropped from 5 to 3 stars. After having it for about 5 months, it started to act up. For a while it would occasionally only come through the right speakers. After a few weeks of that, it now solely will come through the right speakers. After reading a few of the other reviews, I see that I am not the only one who had this issue. I will attempt the ghetto fix with the superglue and add an edit if that fixes the problem. It's a pain having to do something like that, but for the price becing WAYY less than the $200 options elsewhere, I can do a little more elbow grease.

EDIT #2: OK, I attempted the "ghetto" fix mentinoed in other reviews. It worked temporarily. I may not have glued it correctly. I tried to do it without taking the entire thing out which made it difficult to maneuver. Once it warms up again around here, I will try it again with hopes that I will find it works more permanently as promised. STILL much better than the FM transmitter option or dropping $200 plus for the other options. Even when it only works through one side for a little bit.

Simple and Effective Solution
By Robert
I installed this cord in my 2006 (manufactured Jan '06) Mazda 3 and it works great. The audio volume is a not as amplified as I expected, but it is still louder and better quality than my smart phone output. The steering wheel controls work fine (i.e. you can operate the volume controls, the mute button and the mode from the steering wheel). The mode has to be set to "MEDIA" on my console (but it reads "AUX" on the display). I routed the cord out near the floor on the passenger's side as there was no better location in my car without cutting holes (see submitted image). I used a wire hanger to help snake it through. It seems to be fine in that location and there is enough cord (see image). I didn't do anything to the connector terminal (so hopefully it won't flake out like some have reported), but I did duck tape the cord to the back of the unit to act as a strain relief and prevent movement to that connector (see image). I don't understand the superglue thing and I would advise against it. I'm not really into doing car modifications but this was really easy to install and a must in my opinion (to have aux input in the car). I figured out how to pull the radio unit out from a video on youtube. This is not only a cheap option but a very simple and effective one.
