works fine so far

This cable allows you to control your iPod using the car's stereo system. Note you must use the Kia cable for this purpose, you can't use other USB connectors . The cable also charges the iPod. So far it's working fine. The car definitely seizes control of the iPod so the iPod buttons are disabled. I have a NAV system and the Kia screen is displayed on the iPod screen. I do not turn the iPod off after I turn the car off, it appears to reliably go to sleep. Initially I was concerned that the iPod was sometimes continuing to play all on its lonesome after I left the car but it turns out that my memory for what song was playing last is bad (I took notes). The only hitch I have found is that sometimes when I skip to a song, the first few notes are cut off, which is annoying if it is a track where the lyrics start immediately.

KIA iPod cable works fine as AUX cable.

This KIA iPod cable worked fine as an AUX cable but does not allow iPod control from my 2012 KIA Optima UVO system.

This cable is just what I was looking for at about half the price from the dealer. Allows me to control my touch from the steering controls and main radio controls. Also charges while connected.
