Great while it lasted...
By JuanGuapo
-- Update / March 2013 --
A few weeks ago, the TuneCast developed a short in the wire that caused audio to drop out. I contacted Belkin about a replacement but their customer service phone number is absolutely no where to be found on their website. I decided to try "chat support" and that was a nightmare. The representative couldn't understand what a "short" was, and said I should contact Apple. ::bangs head on desk::
While it lasted, it worked great. However, if you are in need of a warranty replacement, best of luck--Belkin's customer service department was of no use or help. I am in the process of finding another FM transmitter for the iPhone made by a different company. I was not impressed with how long this device lasted--just over a year.
Dropped from 4/5 Stars to 2/5 stars for poor product reliability and quality. Your mileage may vary.

The tape deck in my car finally died so I needed another way to listen to iPhone through my car stereo.
Some observations: I bought this while knowing full well it was not going to sound as good as a full Aux-In port (which I lack) or Cassette adapter. However, the device works remarkably well with slight interference. Interference from overhead power lines seems to be the biggest annoyance. The only method I have found to avoid this type of interference is to place the transmitter (the little box in the center) as close to the center of the car (rather than under the radio), and close to the carpet.
Example: I have mine plugged into the cigarette lighter in the dash, the receiver box is resting on the floor somewhere between the seat and center console, and the phone sits in my cup holder. This method seems to present the least interference and works relatively well.
The Belkin iPhone app works really well at finding open stations but it's not necessary; you can use the channel finder on the TuneCast itself. It's built pretty well and doesn't seem cheap in feel. The device also lets you store two stations that work best which I love, and it remembers them after you unplug it. Nice!
One caveat: You may need to change channels once or twice on trips, it's not unusual. I suppose the transmitter could be more powerful but I figure that has more to do with FCC regulation than Belkin.
All in all, I'm very happy with my TuneCast.

Great item, great price
By cathy
I was a little hesitant to purchase this item after reading the mixed reviews. I was very pleasantly surprized. It arrived quickly and was easy to use. I think the people that have had problems with this FM tuner live in a congested area with lots of Fm interferance. I currently live in Montana where there is lots of open space and empty frequencies on the radio. I did use this on several trips to Calgary, AB and had little problem with it. I did have to retune the Fm station a couple of times to get rid of static but thats to be expected when traveling. The sound quality is excellent. I love the GPS frequency locator so I dont have to hunt for an empty setting. I think this is a fantastic option for people who dont have a USB plug in their vehicle. The price on Amazon is less than 1/2 what I saw it in stores for! No regrets.

ALMOST ADEQUATE
By AerialTech
After reading the reviews at Amazon, I ordered this unit in order to expand my music selection in the car using my iPod. I was immediately disappointed in the weak signal and occasional interference. While the product appears to be solidly constructed and has some great features, the radio volume needs to be set at around 65% just to hear it. The Clear Scan app is somewhat useful for finding dead air, but still limited. I set my stations manually.
I would not make this purchase again.
