Sleek Alternative to Otterbox Defender
By D. Cummings
I bought the Ballistic Every1 to replace my Otterbox Defender when I got sick of the silicon casing stretching and coming loose. I was looking for something just as solid that could hold up to my two year old throwing it across the room, but didn't feel like I was pulling the sword in the stone every time I had to get it out of my pocket. Enter the Every1. I was a little nervous because of the lack of reviews, but went ahead based on Ballistic's solid track record. I think I came out on top.
What I Like:
- Though not that much smaller than the Defender, it feels worlds slimmer. The casing material lets it slide in and out of my pocket with ease.
- The built in screen protector has a nice feel to it, my fingers glide easily on the surface and I like that it somewhat "seals" my phone in the case.
- The styling is great, keeps with the simplicity of the iphone with just a little bit of a masculine flair with the complementing gray tone.
- Kickstand is convenient when I need it, I forget about it when I don't.
- The holster is convenient for workouts.
- It is easy to take the case on and off for a quick clean up, but the way the tabs lock together at the corners, I personally have no fear of it ever coming apart from a drop.
- The protection is on par with other ultra-protective cases. I've dropped it out of the car onto the asphalt a couple times already, no problems.
Things I don't like:
- The screen protector does somewhat take away from the sharpness of the retina display, you get that little bit of graininess. Not a huge deal for me since I don't watch alot of hi-def video, and I'd rather have the protection. You get the same thing with the Defender though.
- If you put pressure on the case, you hear a little creakiness at times. I think this is due to the 1mm of air space that they leave between the phone and the case as added protection, but it makes the case feel a little cheaper than it is.
- The glossy black plastic part of the outer shell is easily scratched. I'm more concerned with function than looks though, so it's not a big deal for me.
Overall, a great everyday case!

Perfect, Love it
By anthony
I am a former Otterbox Defender Owner and have bought them for my whole family.
**** The Ballistic Every1 is much better. The second my wife saw the new one she wanted to replace hers too, despite the fact her case is still in ok shape.
If your not familiar all the heavy duty cases are multi layer some including the everyone1, Defender, and Griffin Survivor have Integrated screen protectors built into the shell. In contrast some other cases have those plastic sheets you have to try to affix and "iron" the bubbles out of.
How the Every1 is better is:
1) Its much thinner a tad lighter, it looks like its 1/2 the size but its probably 50 percent thinner.
2) The multi layer protection is integrated as opposed to separate. With most of the others you have a plastic snap together shell and you pull a rubber boot over it. The problem with this is that rubber boots always gets loose over time loosing their form and gaps and gets squishy. 2B) Easier to take apart if necessary
*** For me this was the deciding factor in finally looking for a new provider after going through a few Defenders over two years.
3) I really like the buttons and port covers. If there are ones you need to ditch they can be trimmed.
4) Kick stand is a minor nice bonus if you have kids and you want to play a video. The holster is slimmer and pivoting like the otter box but not as bulky making it more comfortable when your sitting down.
I considered all the manufactures Lifeproof, Griffin, etc. The lifepoof is interesting but the reviews are too mixed (way too many negative ones). The Griffin is just as bulky or more so then the defender and there is a fussy cover over the Camera which gets in the way even when open, so most would have to cut it off.
Enjoy

Better than Otter Defender!!
By Adrian
Was worried about buying this case since there are no reviews on it anywhere, but I'm glad to say that the case is awesome. Slimmer and feels more solid and secure than the OtterBox defender I've always used. Case feels very high quality too, unlike the 2 Otter case I've gone thru already! Buy it and you wont be disappointed...
