1 caveat

This product works perfectly well, there's just the one problem that everyone else mentioned--the input plug is tapered on one side, with little ridges. It's obvious that the idea is you could jam the plug into a properly drilled hole and the ridges would keep the plug from coming back out when you unplug your cord. But it's a snug connection, so no matter how tight you've got it stuck in there, it will probably come out the first or second time you pull on it. I solved this problem by mounting the input plug into my dash panel and then gobbing a ton of super glue all over the back of the plug, cable and dash panel, and then sliding a washer down over the cord, compressing it into the glue on the back of the panel while pushing on the front of the input plug to make it as tight as I could and then gobbing a lot more glue all over the back of the washer and the cord again. It's ugly, but no-one is supposed to see the back, right? Hopefully it works. This prevents you from being able to remove it in the future, but now that there's a hole in your dash, why would you want to? Other than that, the product works fine--they're cables.

Just what I needed

Nice kit I could not find anything like it anywhere else. You will need to put a little glue on the back side of it after you drill the hole and install it. If not the plug pulls back through the hole. It sure is nice to be able to play music use the phone & navagation from my Droid X2 through my truck stereo.

used with the PAC AAI-FRD04.Gave a nice factory installed look in the dashboard just above the power point.No means to secure rubber grommet around plug so I used a small zip tie behind the the dashboard to secure the female adapter from pulling back out.
