Versatile & sturdy

Just got this a few days ago and have used it on a road trip with GPS software on my iPhone 4S. The windshield suction bracket is sturdy and holds well. It's been on the windshield for 3 days now, including a 7 hour road trip using it with the phone and it is still holding securely. The air vent mount also works well, though it is inherently less stable since the bottom feet don't grab anything but just slide across the surface; the top clamp on the air vent mount is secure and well made, however, so the phone is secure, it just moves from side to side some when you touch it. Have not used the 3rd mounting option, which is a sticky-backed disk you can put on a single location to stay and then attach the suction bracket (same one used for the windshield) to the disk. I'm sure it would work well, but I don't like the idea of sticking it on the dash like a bumper sticker. Both the suction bracket and the air vent bracket provide the ability to pivot the phone to different positions, although the suction bracket allows a much larger degree of motion than does the air vent bracket.
The bracket that holds the phone is well thought out. It opens quite wide (about 5 inches) to hold quite large devices, and clamps tightly to the phone with a ratcheting slide mechanism with a release button. Easy to use and very secure.
Overall, a great product at a wonderful price. I would buy it again.

Too bulky. Not recommended for iPhone 5.

My device is iPhone 5. And my car is Honda Civic 2007, for which I need to place a car mount onto the AC vent.
Here's the reasons I'm not happy with this product:
1) The two bottom legs don't work with iPhone 5 if you want to use 3.5mm audio jack (at the bottom left of iPhone 5) and a Lightning connector (at the bottom center of iPhone 5) at the same time. Yes, the legs are adjustable (you can adjust their angles and horizontal positions), but with no matter what angle or horizontal position, the left leg interferes with either audio jack or Lightning connector because each leg is too wide. To workaround, you have to file the left leg to make it narrower or don't use the left leg at all (i.e., have your phone be supported by only one leg).
2) The neck of the AC vent mount doesn't rotate enough vertically. As a result, when mounted to the AC vent of Honda Civic (of which vents are facing slightly upward), the angle of the holder ends up facing upward a bit (about 20-30 degree) and you can't make it face straight to the driver.
3) This product is too bulky from tip to toe. Kensington car mount is twice as slim and compact as this product. As you may see from the photos, the clamp arms are ridiculously big. I wonder what kind of smartphone would need huge clump arms like these. These huge clump arms may make sense if you use a huge bulky pouch/case for your iPhone, but it is certainly no good for nudist (no case) or minimalist (ultra slim case) iPhone 5 owners.
Overall, I don't think this product is worth $14.

Pefect for my Phone

This dashboard Cell Phone holder is perfect for my phone, a Samsung Stratosphere with a very big battery in it. The cell phone became quite fat recently because of the new improved battery. This holder will hold any phones, from skinny to fat. The release of the phone is very smooth. The way the phone is held feels very secure. I drove on some rough roads and the phone was held securely.
Highly recommend!!!
